Organizational Storywork

Stories help people in organizations focus on values, mission, and commitment. Stories are already part of every organization. Savvy organizational leaders are alert to tapping into the existing stories, nudging them in the desired direction, and creating new ones that help everyone work together more effectively.

Patti is prepared to help you

Patti has had an interest in storytelling and story LISTENING in organizations for many years. Her work as a manager and team leader in many organizations, in addition to her training as a social worker and psychotherapist, gives her insight and skills to bring to organizations dealing with issues and milestones.

Patti is a member of the Storytelling in Organizations group of the National Storytelling network as well as an active participant in the San Diego Community of Practice Storywork group.

Whether working with staff in a training or retreat setting or crafting a program that assists in an organizational change effort, Patti brings her organizational knowledge to assisting groups in telling and hearing important stories.

Bring something differerent to your organization.

Why was Solomon recognized as the wisest man in the world? Because he knew more stories (proverbs) than anyone else. Scratch the surface in a typical boardroom and we're all just cavemen with briefcases, hungry for a wise person to tell us stories.
Alan Kay, vice president at Walt Disney

Those who do not have power over the story that dominates their lives, the power to retell it, rethink it, deconstruct it, joke about it, and change it as times change, truly are powerless, because they cannot think new thoughts.
Salman Rushdie
